Gilbert Brule on waivers...

Postby Drury_Sakic » Sun Oct 02, 2011 5:33 pm

I know the kid has not lived up to expectations and the Avs are already loaded with similar style players, but I would have a hard time passing on him given his 1.8 mill contract that expires with him being an RFA after this year.... even if the Avs eventually waived him themselves and lost him via waivers, its worth it. The added cap hit also allows the Avs to send Elliott down at somepoint if they desire and stay above the cap floor.

Someone is bound to claim him, might as well be the Avs.

Keep Him D.S. He would wind up like Svatos, Hishon, Olver and the list goes on. I would rather keep Bordello of Blood. Now the AVS don't have a single forward over 6'2 on the roster. I know your argument but 1 or 2 big forwards sure can't hurt. Our big D is thin as well and a couple of injuries could really hurt. No matter what you say the AVS could still use more size in the system.
