It is being reported that Salei, who is from Belarus, was awaiting the team in Minsk.

Team's officials confirmed that the whole roster was on the plane plus 4 players from the youth team.

This really makes me sick...

It seems that Aleksandr Galimov is the only player survived and he's now in hospital fighting for his life

Beyond shocked. As someone who travels a lot, the thought of something like this had crossed my mind. I took comfort in the fact that it had never happened to a professional team before. For whatever reason, it made me feel safer in the sky.

I can't even begin to fathom how something like this would be covered by US media if it happened to an NHL team or even an NFL team.

Along with all the thoughts to players/coaches/families/etc., my thoughts also go out to the Lokomotiv fans out there who are just like us, and in an instant, lost every single member of their team.

Whoa, this is the first I've seen of this. Unbelievable and shocking. Prayers to all families involved. What a tragic loss on all levels.

It has happened before, just on the college level with the Marshall University crash back in the 60's or 70's. They made a movie about the aftermath.

I keep thinking that there were 3 other deaths this summer... Boogard, Belak and _____ . Was it Probert? Was he the other one? That seems like it was so long ago. Man what a terrible summer this has been for hockey.
